Sneek Peek!

So here’s a look at what your $20.00 will get ya. It’s a quality product (10×14 in size) printed on the highest quality cardstock. It is bound with double-loop wire so it will last a year and beyond! There’s a hole punched at the bottom of the calendar so that it can be hung up fully open, measuring 20×28. The top half of the calendar is for notes–jot down things to do, grocery lists, important phone numbers, etc… The bottom half has your month blocks already labeled with every important holiday. Just fill in the craziness of your lives! :)

The highlight of these calendars are the adorable faces–I almost can’t bring myself to write on it! Here’s what I’m talking about:

Isn’t it beautiful?  To show your support of adoption, please consider ordering one for your home. You may click on the link to the right and buy now via PayPal– no need to set up an account.  Or visit previous post to find the order form link. Print. Mail. Done. Thank you so much!

IT’S HERE!

Well, what started out as a very fragmented, foggy idea has finally turned into a beautiful product of which I am very proud. When I was praying about how to raise both awareness of and money for our adoption, I kept closing my eyes at night and viewing a perpetual slide show of gorgeous faces from around the world–all smiling. All safe. These were orphans no longer. These were beloved sons and daughters and image-bearers of Christ. That’s what adoption looks like to me. I believed that if I could somehow capture these faces for people to see, then the millions of children without families would be harder to ignore. They’d have a face. Furthermore, if I could show the absolute joy found in these families then adoption would seem less frightening–for lack of a better word. People would see that adopted families are like any other family–uniquely designed by God. I prayed about the project idea and strongly felt the Lord encouraging me to do it.

So on a chilly December day, my dear friend and Birmingham photographer, Allison Lewis (www.allisonlewisphotography.com) and I set up in Heardmont Park to photograph 23 families who had responded to the call for children to be photographed for the 1st annual Faces of Adoption Calendar. It was such a wonderful day and I was blessed beyond measure to meet all of these precious families. I say first annual because I have a dream of doing this every year and donating the proceeds. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to photograph a child at one and then again at, say, age 10? Oh, I would love to journey with these children through the years and welcome new ones to the pages while showing all of Birmingham that we are a city who loves and supports adoption!

With the help of the wonderful people at Rocky Heights Print and Binding Company, we have produced a high-quality 12 month calendar highlighting the beautiful faces of adoption. I simply love the finished product and I know you will too! Stay-tuned for pictures of the actual calendar coming soon!

If you would like to order a calendar, please click on the “buy now” link on the side bar. You do not need a paypal account to purchase in this way. If you prefer to order by mail, please click below and print the order form and mail to me with your payment.

Thank you so much for your support and a special thanks to all of the families who are featured in this year’s calendar. Your children are simply gorgeous and a true testimony to the goodness of our Lord who loves to give us unfathomable gifts.
